Contemporary Patrons is the Contemporary Art Society’s membership scheme for collectors of contemporary art who want to make a real difference to the careers of living artists and to ensure that their work is seen by the public, both now and into the future.

• At least two events per year will be held outside London

Contemporary Patrons make a very significant and vital contribution to the work of the Contemporary Art Society.  Without the support of Patrons, the Society would not have been able to present Anthony Caro’s Early One Morning, 1962 to Tate in 1965, or Francis Bacon’s Pope I, 1951 to Aberdeen Art Gallery in 1956, or Gilbert and George’s Good, 1984 to Wolverhampton Art Gallery in 1986.  Over the last ten years, more than 1000 works of art have entered public collections through the Contemporary Art Society.  As support for museum acquisitions by national and local government declines in real terms, your support becomes ever more essential to ensure that more of the best international contemporary art enters museum collections throughout the UK.
